I think what he's trying to say is he'd like a new term to differentiate straight admirers from bisexual or gay admirers because public opinion seems to be that we're all a bunch of thirsty cockbandits. I don't see the sense, though. So long as the scene remains publicly taboo and there are homophobes and right-wing religious types in the world, we're always going to be seen as gay. No number of newly introduced terms are going to change that. The only remaining recourse is learning how to deal with our insecurities when people do lump us together or parting ways with people too quick to judge and too unwilling to listen.
