Just a few months ago I bought myself a HAL9000. It does everything for me. Welcomes me home. Phones in my pizza order. Adjusts the room temperature. Records my favorite TV shows. Turns down my covers, sets the alarm, fucks me to exhaustion and serves me coffee in the moring. Get yourself a HAL9000 Dino and the only mistakes in your life will be due to human error.

Trivia - if you advance one letter in every letter in HAL you get IBM. Kubrick claimed it was not intentional.

I installed AVG for years on other's PCs until somebody was having a lot of spyware issues it didn't catch. I installed Avast free and lo' and behold all the crap was found and removed. Unlike AVG (bought by MSFT, BTW), Avast announces ads to buy their product as well as updates. But it works.

I'm moving computers to Microsoft Security Essentials at the moment. The performance hit is not nearly as bad as Symantec (SEP), but the protection level is certainly less.

...and you can set Avast to speak to you in "pirate"...and honestly, what's cooler than that?!! huh?
