Actually, that's been a point of controversy on this very thread. Some people think it's offensive, other people think it's just a descriptive term that's acceptable within porn, but offensive outside of it, and still other people think it's not offensive at all. I tend to see it as okay to use as long as the person you are calling a sissy is okay with it, otherwise it just leads to hurt feelings, angry attitudes, and all around bad times. By the way, welcome to the forum, and there is no such thing as rookie questions, only rookie posters!

I personally find the term "sissy" to be offensive but I suppose it's a matter of judgement; a lot of terms get thrown around these days. I suppose the next question would be, is there any where online where I can buy outfits for crossdressing? I discovered (actually, have know for a long time) that I am very adventurous and am willing to try most things at least once.

Oh, and cheers for the welcome. I've been a wanderer of this forum for the past few months and finally decided to join so I can share my adventurous side

Great! I personally don't know of any websites that sell outfits for crossdressing, but I'm sure there are there are people on this forum who do. I look forward to seeing your adventurous side!

Thanks for such a considerate, compassionate answer. Personally, I like being called a sissy in a sexual context, a dynamic of the sexual objectification that turns me on. And I like men and women thinking of me that way in a sexual setting. Apart from that, I like being perceived as a femme crossgender, as opposed to being thought of as a boy or a GG. But sex aside, the term "sissy" with its limited connotations doesn't accurately describe who I really am.

Well, most of us find our clothes the same way GGs do -- we go shopping! It's a learning process and a journey to be sure. There's a reason GGs never seem to have enough clothes!

Seriously though, all my clothes and shoes and jewelry come from the department stores etc you see all around you.

But if you're not up for that, there are a number of online options -- if you know your sizes, and most of them can help you with that too. A site called Suddenly Femme has lots of stylish clothes that they say are made specifically for mtf crossdressers. I ordered one blouse from them and really like it, but that's all I know. Beware any site that sells one-size-fits-all, cuz they're prolly not gonna fit a guy unless you're really petite. Let me emphasize that some trial and error is unavoidable until you learn your sizes, and even then women's clothes sizing is so inconsistent that trying things on really helps. You might think about second-hand shops til you get things figured out.

Paula Young is a pretty good source for wigs, and thebreastformstore.com is my recommendation for fake boobs. Unless you have big feet, you can find shoes everywhere, retail and online. Snaz75 is a popular online source for heels on the slutty side, and they cater to CDers.

Makeup is a big hurdle. All I can suggest is to watch some videos (there are tons on YouTube), go to a store and stock up on the basics, and then start practicing.

Finally, you might find a transformation service in your area that can help you with all of the above. For example, there's a great one in Houston that can teach you about makeup, do a makeover, and sell you everything you need, from top to bottom. If cost isn't an issue, this might be a good solution for you.
