Shhh! Don't say that, you might actually make him think, that could hurt him.

Generalizing much? Oh wait, what was I thinking? This is HA after all, it happens all the time, even to the people who love being pseudo-intellectual and trying to act like they know better, like you. Ignorance and sexism is so obvious even when you try to word it nicely.

There are all kinds of gay men sure. But like all celebrities, gay celebrities are a reflection of the underlying society they represent. It's not as if all these gay celebrities behave a certain way and average gays don't behave anything remotely like them. Attempts have been made to quantify the range of human behaviors using such things as masculinity-feminity scoring systems. For gays, if plotted on such a scale, the distribution of behaviors may encompass a wide range indeed, but the mean gay score is skewed away from the mean score for men who are 100% straight.

Surely, you aren't going to argue that you're a "regular guy" who uses a Wonder Woman cartoon avatar and also just happens to be gay.

"snap Phobun's neck off his smug body"... hehe, I really got your goat for you to have written that.

Clearly, manliness does not equal man, at least not for everyone.

    Blah blah blah...

There's masculine gay public figures such as rugby player Gareth Thomas, ex basketball player John Amaechi, ex Survivor contestant JP Calderon, ex baseball player Billy Bean, to name a few.

I was waiting for this, the comment about my avatar. I put her because she's a gay icon, and I'm gay but that has nothing to do with what we're talking about and if we're gonna talk about avatars, you can't really say anything about mine as long as you have yours of a (trans?) model or beauty queen working the runway.

    Exactly. A few.

It is okay for a guy to have a pretty girl as an avatar. But it is a bit fruity for a self-described man to have post-menopausal has beens like Judy Garland, Cher, Lynda Carter, Bea Arthur or any another "gay icon" as an avatar.

So, what exactly is a (effeminate or otherwise) gay man? The third sex? A reptile? an alien from Mars? Take someone like Lance Bass or Quentin Crisp, someone completely gay and effeminate...they are not men to you? I never understood when homophobes said gays are not "real men"(Scotsman fallacy anyone?); then what are they? Straight women? No, they are just as man as any other guy, they just happen to have different attractions(in this case exclusively.

That's your opinion. And I'm not a "self described" man, I am a man. A man with a Wonder Woman avatar,. Big deal! The world must be ending. Get over it.

PS: For a self-described manly man (who isn't supposed to be into fruity things as you say), you sure know a lot about gay icons from the past. Keep digging your grave buddy .

Actually I never called myself manly. I did a search for "gay icons"... What the hell, why so many dried-up old ladies?

Well, if the OP is just stirring shit all everyone is doing is exactly what he wanted- they're falling into predictable arguments- "this is gay, that's gay" kind of shit.
If the OP is just genuinely ignorant about the issues transwomen face (female mind/male body) then we're just not even bothering to educate this person.
In either case, the thread is pointless with all these rants.
There are cases where someone may be so confused about gender and identity and face other external pressures that they could conceivably go from male to female to male again, however that would be incredibly rare.
Most of the women on this board are mentally women and when they go through those changes to bring out that woman, they are not likely to revert to a male persona of any sort.
Yes topping is predominantly seen as a "male" action, but Vaniity is paid to do it and still has a penis. Even if she sees herself as a bottom it still probably feels good. I'm sure there are many sex acts that feel good that I wouldn't indulge in unless I was getting paid to do it.
I myself don't like the idea of a girl topping, but big deal. The world doesn't exist to solely make me happy...
