Just as most people can choose the neighborhood they live in, the same is with professions.
Anyways, off the high-horse for a while, just thought I'd answer the question about (possible) motivation.

I think that without TS girls working or escorting there would be no Hung Angels, no TS parties...hardly anyone would ever see one, meet one, jerk off to one, or fuck one. It's a service. If not for escorts in life many guys would be stuck in horrible relationships or cheating on their girlfriends or boyfriends with people that could rat them out or worse. Escorts just do what you want them to do....usually what your lover won't do, and leave without ever bothering you or your girlfriend or boyfriend.

The savior threads do appear to be similar to the ubiquitous evangelical preacher outside the nightclub thing....
Yeah, errrrr... sorry about that.
Sex work is as old as civilization (if not before), but is having savior threads is probably better than not?
Maybe they're lonely or broke, but maybe its better that they care?

The same things every guy is saying about sex work were said to me about my transition and I'm sure to many other girls as well.
Ultimately what it shows is that you guys have little respect for consensual sex workers and adult performers. Even though you consume our services and films you still feel it is somehow appropriate to speak negatively of our decisions and work. It sucks.
For some women sex work is a wonderfully fulfilling avenue, and for others not so great. But that is true of any path one may choose in life.
It is so ingrained in men that they have a right to express an opinion about anything and anyone regardless of how valid it is, especially when it comes to women and their bodies. I understand that sexism is culturally ingrained in men and largely unexamined, but it really reeks when it is displayed in such a paternalistic and blatant manner. You guys are not wiser than us, no matter how much you think you are.
Trust me, nobody is more aware of the toll and risk of sex work more than those of us who are actually doing it. Rather than trying to convince us to become baristas and students maybe you guys should support our efforts to build a safer and more socially acceptable environment in which to work. The stigmatization of sex workers needs to be fought not reinforced.
