Plan 9 from Outer Space (1959)
Santa Claus Conquers the Martians (1964)

Pink Flamingos (1972)
The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975)
The Gods Must Be Crazy (1980)
Mommie Dearest (1981)
Heavy Metal (1981)
Blade Runner (1982)
Scarface (1983)
Brazil (1985)
The Coca Cola Kid (1985)
Angel Heart (1987)
Jacob's Ladder (1990)
Army of Darkness (1993)
Boxing Helena (1993)
The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert (1994)
Most of these cult films are simply good but overlooked films. Scarface did well at the box office, but was maligned by the critics. The Rocky Horror Picture Show practically redefined the cult movie as we know it. The rest fall into the category of "so bad that they are good".
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly isn't really an example of a cult film insofar as it did well at the box office and critics generally liked it. I think it is one of the best Westerns ever made.

I vote for They Live too. John Carpenter is one of my favorite directors.
