Your new pictures look great, However next time tell your photographer to put a little light on the background so you stand out more from the BG. Or a back/hair light would separate you from the background. You look great and with a few tweaks so will your pictures. :P

I was thinking the same thing, like the photo's were a bit dark or off somehow, I guess that can be fixed in photoshop or something, right?

You have a couple of options, Nothing of course beats doing it right the first time, however you can remove the background since it is black and place a new back ground in its place. You can also play with levels and curves which might help also. Keep at it though.
