Any discussion of classy relative to today's society should start with Mr. Class himself Karl Marx.

I think traditional perspectives on class are breaking down and therefore one's ability to be classy may reflect less on what socio-economic group they were born into or what they do for a living, but how they are and act as individuals. However, society puts enough weight on traditional class definitions for these to probably never go away entirely.

Not so long ago, the only people who could be classy were those born into it. As Karl would say "the capitalists", i.e. high society.

Interestingly, I think the originator of this post does have the traditional definition of class, at least partly.
