Lionheart is now security at Escuelita. Miss Sylvia Del Rio was very famous here in Chicago before she moved to NYC. In my early stages of transition with dark hair, I bore a striking resemblance to her, and many of her clients came my way. And being very much into the Continental scene and helpg girls who compete, we were stunned whe Jessie died in her hotel room, it also opened my eyes to the dangers of drug usage. Wow to see the pics of what I missed!

Re: History of transexuals 70's, 80's and early 90's
There was a great jam packed (my first) bar on Cauhenga just north of Hollywood BLVD. It was a long narrow bar and by the time you walked from the entrance to the back you were groped by "girls" a dozen times. I really miss those days and think of them often. Glad I found this site. Oh BTW, the bar was called ( misspelled I'm sure) Da Pauls

I think the times were better back then simply because every statement you made wasn't over analyzed and scrutinized. The girls knew why you liked hanging out at Eidelweiss or Sally's and most of the time it was fun just to hang out. Today, everything said seems to be misconstrued or you are under a constant hustle, no more just hanging out and having fun. Hope this doesn't offend anyone, this is just an opinion.

Re: History of transexuals 70's, 80's and early 90's
I remember a a strictly Dyke Bar, early eighty's , 79. They used to have drag night , once a week, were they would invite a drag queen to lip sink to hitsongs on a stage for an hour, the girls loved it.The performer I saw that one night, was insanely hot and talented ,looked like a better version of Marilyn Monroe, . I only went a few times, just long enough to figure out that the girls who had brought me there wanted me in drag, . Ah, hahaha,
Anyway, the club was named CheMoi, in Hamilton or Toronto, I'm not quite sure.
Back then ,from mid 70's and onward, ,the Lgbdtrans platypus- was aloud to exist ,but not too openly or flamboyantly. They were no spousal benefits, there was no spousal anything.Just allowed to be, but quietly.
Ah,,,the Golden Days....
