The verse is not a warning about being rich. Some of the richest people in history are mentioned in the bible - Abraham, King Solomon etc.
Solomon, the richest king of his time wrote: Whoever loves money never has money enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with his income. This too is meaningless. Ecclesiastes 5:10
Not being satisfied can lead you into all kinds of temptations to do evil.
What if all these fantasies come flailing around?
