It's not even a matter of self-esteem in my case. In fact, much to the surprise and confusion of the psych-types, I have a comparitively high self-esteem. It's the general population I don't have a very lofty regard for. Hence why I see professionals rather than continue courting the average psycho from a singles bar or the mall.
And the TS escorts I know are pretty sharp in that regard as well, particularly if you get them talking about their favorite specialties (Outside the bedroom). One is very attuned to business management (Owns her own production company) while the other is adept at computer hardware and software tweaking. If they've got low self-esteem, I haven't seen it.

There's actually been times when I wondered if there are people in this world who have =not= been mollested, arrested, raped, beaten, shot at, robbed, burgled, abused... Feh! The list is endless. Of the above list, rape is the only one I have had the good fortune to avoid (Unless you count financial rape by crooked or incompetent business associates).
Throw in variants like homosexuality and transgenderism and the probability that any one or more of these horrors has occured to these gurls goes through the roof. Live in the conservative south? Double the odds. Orthodox family? Double them again.
True, there are a lot of people here on HA that will joke and sass about anything and everything under the sun. Claiming they've been raped as a child isn't one of them. And if you think such a claim is far-fetched, how about a five-year old that complains to her sister that the boys at the high school promised her a dollar if she blew them and then they didn't pay her after she did? Or maybe we can get a laugh out of the mother that went to jail because the perverted dick she took as her second husband touched up her twelve-year old daughter. Oh, wait, here's a good one: An intersexed boi that falls in love with the first guy that accepts him as the gender he is comfortable in and then said guy pimps him out to all of his friends to rape and torture him, all before he turned sixteen.
Yah, right, I don't laugh at shit like that. Ever. Especially since all of the above are true and happened to people I know and truly care about.
Shit. My blood pressure's up. Time for a break.
PS: Unless you consider New Jersey, Connecticut, and Texas 'third world', this stuff can happen anywhere.
