Have you seen the cover of the dvd for sale? Its so innacurate, its showing felicity huffmans pic from desperate houswives on the front, she looks nothing like that in the film.,

I liked it, although as Angela indicates there was some absurdity in some of the situations that developed, especially with her family. I liked her interaction with her doctor and always love Grahame Greene, who has a nice role in the movie. Mostly I thought that Huffman was a good choice to play Bree, being that Bree was not intended to be an Allanah Starr or Gia Darling sort of TS beauty, but a fairly ordinary, early-middle-aged man transitioning into womanhood.

I really liked it, it was a touch more outrageous than I normally like but it was a really good example of a road movie, so many great eccentric characters.

i think the film ia poigniant, hysterical, and touching-
the scene where she is gonna 'steal' the tip and the cowboy is watching her so she just reaches over and eats the harlf eaten french fry is priceless (her face) while her son is turning a date in the back of a van
i saw it recently on a transatlantic flight and though ti was great.

i thought i saw a small fraction of it on the independent channel
on cable television before seeing the entire film
from beginning to end on DVD release.
TransAmerica seems a bit slow moving at times for my taste
especially when "felicity huffman" and her dysfuntional son begin
their journey to LA , but overrall it's wasn't a bad film at all.
i'll probably watch it again at some point.
i did find the DVD extras regardiing the actor/actress
and the making of the film interesting.

I saw the movie and thought it was good. I feel that Filicity Huffman was amazing at playing a ts. I liked the movie Beautiful Boxer much better. It touched me and made me cry!

I enjoyed the movie.
I did find it touching, poignant, and at time very amusing
as Alannah has stated (BTW, Allanah I must be flying on
the wrong airlines, mine always saw me some edited to
Hell schlock)
I have seen just about every transsexual movie (non porn)
ever made. One day I will list them. In my opinion they tend
to be flawed in one way or another.
Felicity Huffman was good in the role of Bree, and Bree comes
across as likable. Though she is wound as tight as a cat in a
room full of rocking chairs.
And while I am a proponent of every womens right to undergo
SRS, Bree just didn't strike me as ready for that step. Also I
hope that she was getting a discount on her psychotherapy,
as her reliance on her therapist was to say the least dependent,
clingy, and needy.
One would think that a woman who had been in life
(not neccesarily 'the life') but who was a mature women
would have better coping skills, but hey who am I to judge.
A fleet of U-Haul truck follows me wherever I go, because I
have so much baggage.
In summation, Transamerica is a good movie, I daresay a must
see movie for any one interested in the subject. I also
applaud Hollywood for more and more tackling this subject.
However as I have stated I have seen a lot of movies in this
genre, and I don't feel that any of them truly tells our story.
Guess we will have to do it ourselves.
