Search results by date???

When I do a search in a thread, the results come back all over the place. Is there a way to sort results by the date posted, with the latest posts coming first.

The posts from 2-4 years ago aren't relevant.

If you use Advanced Search

then under Additional Options you will see two filters in particular that should solve your problems:

Find Posts where you can specify various time spans together with a Newer/Older qualifier

Sort Results by where you can choose from various criteria e.g. Last Posting Date or Thread Start Date etc. together with a sort order - Ascending /Descending

You can also Save Search Preferences from that screen
