I go on holiday almost yearly to SJ.. its not unsafe at all. I have stayed in Old SJ, Condado, and Isle Verde. I have even gone out to La Placita in Santurce which is supposed to actually be the locals party place.. but its a little wild there. Almost all major hotels have nightclubs within..
