what is the purpose of fake ads on Craigslist?

From what I've heard the ''escort'' at the door is different, but many guys still go through with it just because they are horny af and don't know better. Personally I have no first hand experience on this so this may or may not be true.

Craigslist, Backpage... are nothing but a license to scam. How likely is the guy going to call the police and press charges or even file a complaint?

This reminds me about the old tale of contact ads in the backpages of less than reputable newspapers.

A fine figure of a lass (with blanked out looks) would advertise her services as a traveling dominatrix. Once you were securely bound, at your hotelroom/home, she'd let a gang of thieves into your gaff, and they'd rob you blind.
As a parting gift, she'd take a couple of Polaroids of you, bound, and with a daffodil stuck up your arse....Report that!

I don't know if that ever happened...but i can well imagine it did!
