I think that's a common steryotype and to some degree people are more used tro them but Brazil has the highest murder rate among trans women as in they are murdered at a rate around 3-5 times as much as the second and third countries (Mexico and the United States)

Some of this could be due to Brazil's already high crime rate and high Catholic population

Like Turkey i think there is a strange cultural thing about it where men are more aware of trans people and far more seem to admit to having sex with them but just are not interested in seeing them past that or talk about how it's gross etc.
