In this case, these transwomen have adopted a new identity from their birth name so I actually understand it fully. They are labeling themselves as to who they are. Now, this may be me rationalizing it, but it seems to fit since a name is one of the most important parts of your identity. Plus, we have no idea of the etiology of their chosen name.
