I did run into a Japanese cd who was on her way to a bar i Le Marais in the 4th Arrondissement, we met on the Blvd Sebastopol around 11pm. There are numerous gay/mixed bars in Le Marais but there is also a list here, but note how varied the responses are, and may be out of date as places open and close or may only be open on some nights. The Thai restaurant and cabaret on the Rue Tiquetonne closed a couple of years ago.

I have posted about the Bois de Boulogne in other threads but I can't recall which ones. All I would say is that it has always had a risk element, but that in the current climate extra caution may be required as there are some nasty people taking advantage of the 'free range' goods. In this case, it was lethal, and the fact that 10 have been murdered 'in recent years' the latest being Vanessa Campos from Peru-
