    Easy Tiger ...

If I was told ANY of my friends had died, I think my first question would be "what happened" or "how".

I take your point if the interest is prurient, but just being told someone that young has died, whether surrounded by family of not, leaves a bit of a hole if you don't know the circumstances.

I didn't mean to sound strident, my apologies. My point was simply to address the elephant in the room. We don't (I surely don't) know any of the circumstances. Just sorry it happened.

Why would he have a comment? And is it appropriate that you posted that here?

It seems that the inference on this board has been whenever it's announced that a transsexual adult entertainer dies is that she might of had ... you know ... the dreaded "A" word. But the reality is, it shouldn't matter to anyone, except her significant other, her family or her close friends. Hormone treatments can do a number on transsexuals and can lead to increased risk of cancer of the lung, cervix, stomach, esophagus (tube fromyour mouth to your stomach), larynx (voice box), liver, and bladder. The risk of breast cancer may also be increased for MTFs who have takenestrogen over a long period of time. She died surrounded by family. That should be sufficient.

It's a normal impulse to want to know why someone died.
I've had close relatives who died while I was in the hospital and a doctor still couldn't give me the specifics about what literally started the death process.

Learning why someone dies can be a precaution for those of us still living, so I don't know why it's some big secret other than respecting the privacy of the family.

Also I don't think it's shameful to find out someone died from HIV.

As far as I am aware, none of you are family or close friends (myself included). I'm sure they know more. It's unnecessary for it to be shared with us if it's not already in the public domain.

Fine, but what I disagree with is that it's somehow 'morbid' or prurient to know and understand the death process.

That's a very normal, natural human impulse.

Of course, some people use the details of someone's death to judge their lives after the fact.
But for me personally it's just an interest in knowing what happened.

No one is suggesting her family has an obligation to share that info either.

.....I meant to suggest perhaps the cutting of a little slack might be in order as well when I saw this ystdy. Someone I admired and whose work I respected has passed suddenly and unexpectedly and at a very young age....I'm gonna say, well shit, that's a stone drag...., what the heck happened? Doesn't seem like an unnecessary question to me....certainly by no means "morbid"

.....this guy, on the other hand
