The Huffington Post reckons things are beginning to change for the transgendered community in the UK, thanks in part to the nine people mentioned in this article.

I'd forgotten about Hannah Winterbourne, the highest ranked trans officer in the British Army, who is amongst the nine. She began her transition in the middle of a tour of Afghanistan!! Heartening to hear her claim the army have been nothing but supportive. In how many other countries could that be said, I wonder ...
