If mankind were reduced to rutting animals, this is the only position we'd use. It's our natural default, and as mentioned in the recent poll here, it scores high for eye contact.

Speaking of animals and their positions, I've never seen a nature documentary that showed two creatures going at it reverse cowgirl. Hmmm ...

I think most people prefer the missionary position because of the close, full body and face to face contact. It maximizes the area of bodily contact, it feels the most intimate as each partner embraces and is embraced and each partner and watches the facial expressions of the other. For intimacy, it my favorite position.

Doggy is of course very convenient and cowgirl is fun. The remainder were invented for the camera and are hot to watch. They're great in the bedroom too, if you got a few mirrors.

Of course we're leaving out all the oral as well as all the kinky stuff we like to do to scratch our itches, stir our deeper desires and assuage our darker natures.

I'm certainly a fan of the missionary position. I am vers and it is my favorite position both top and bottom.
