I doubt that these people start with the intention of going back and forth between genders. Someone trying it out of curiosity would be unlikely to go to the extent of taking hormones for years and getting breast surgery.

It's a fact of life that people sometimes feel a strong need to do something at some stage in their life and then find later that the experience hasn't lived up to their expectations. For instance, look at all the couples who marry pledging their undying love and end up getting divorced.

Also friends and family are not always supportive (not to mention the rest of society). Some people may just tire of the stresses arising from other peoples' attitudes and want to be accepted as "normal" again.

I'm not sure any of us has the right to judge people's motivations in these situations but remaining trans out of embarrassment at not wanting to admit a mistake would seem to be the worst reason to do it.

This thread has been an interesting read. I feel badly for the folks that have gender dysphoria.

However I feel a little guilty since I am attracted to MTF transsexuals, and I am in a way glad they are transitioning and have the underlying dysphoria.

I have no idea what gender dysphoria is like, but I imagine very challenging for those going through it.

As a pure aside, if I were someone who went to all the trouble of of transitioning (and going through the telling of friends and family I was a woman), I would be too embarrassed to transition back to my original sex. At some point, the people that supported you through the original transition will think you are crazy. Let alone if you would decide to retransition.

If you are going back and forth between genders, it would probably be best just to hold where you are at and get some intensive psychotherapy.

I have dates several and they all have mental issues stemming from this and other things it's no picnic dating many of them but when you are lucky enough to pull one out of the xxx biz like I did and or sex work in general or you get luckyer yet one that never entered sex work they are a lot saner, they have normal jobs and lives and truly live as transsexual females living lives we girls they can be the best girlfriends out there but they are so use to having guys use them not take them out publicly etc they need to to learn to trust you
