There was a semi shady porn related private placement company and I got on their list before they went bust. Always wished I could have invested in some TS porn deal but never saw one. Seems like there would be more startup initiatives given all the talk of TS porn's popularity over the past decade give or take

If TS porn was more lucrative then there would be more content and companies producing, it's unlikely that they'd need more backing. The fact is, that the "old days" of setting up a shop with a good idea on the adult internet arena and making it work, are for the most part over. Unless you've got something very special (and I don't know what could be), you'd be looking at up to a 3 yr period for a return on investment on a website given that you know what you are doing. Otherwise, it's more likely never to return the investment.
It's not so much to do with TS porn - but as porn in general, which is why you've seen a contraction in the amount of companies and product being developed.

How do you compensate people who produce original content? I'm talking way beyond the porn industry. Kids nowadays laugh at adults like me who still pay for television. They stream everything for free and they don't even pay for their Netflix. Like a queen bee one of them has a password and its shared with dozens of their mates. At some point there won't be an incentive to create anything new.

Maybe somebody on this site could tell me if the Asian and Middle Eastern market has been exploited, SHE-MALE WISE, that is?? In other words, is there a Chinese or South Korean WendySummers.com?

Part of me can't help but fantasize that I go out on the street and pick up a ho for a hundred bucks, .....If I film our meeting, then it's not even illegal and maybe I can sell it to somebody for a hundred bucks.

Ten thousand migraine headaches later and maybe you could make enough money to make it pay off, my nephew went to film school for four years, and found out the hard way that after school was over, people no longer got off on being in his movies for free, or even for money. The World would be such a beautiful place if only the people would do what I instruct them to do....

Yet...if you can sketch a comic book graphic novel type story, you've basically just story-boarded a movie.

To be successful now, you'd have to follow GroobySteven around for a few weeks and steal his act, work backwards, and find out what actually works. In the real world. If putting sexual fantasy on a CD was as easy as I imagine, I'd be a millionaire now.

My FILME would be about a loser-guy with a dead end job who embezzles money from his employer and descends into a hellish world of strip clubs, whores, and drugs. Sex in cars, alleys, seedy fleabag hotel rooms. It would be filmed in black and white and have just a touch of gritty "noise" added in, and religious artifacts strewn around to attract the critics. Just as I understand the error of my ways (after several riveting crimes) I would get stabbed in the spine by a pimp whose whore I had killed.

That said, that's the same generation who is heavily into things like kickstarter. They're willing to spend money on particular projects that interest them. The problem with that model are the difficulties of getting someone to deliver on the product you've bought into.

Heck you can see this within porn: it's part of the reason for the rise of the solo model and the resurgence of webcam... a fan can actively vote with their dollars for the models they enjoy. The only reason I've had the longevity I've seen with this is because I have fans who are willing to support my work by buying it and I know other models in a similar situation (both GG and TS).

Very interesting, thanks for the thoughtful reply. Feels like the next wave of defensible content production business models has to be VR (virtual reality). You sell an encrypted and permission managed library of poses, angles, sounds and spoken phrases, outcomes, to the likes of an Oculus visor owner. Large barriers to entry (development time horizons and capitalized R&D costs are large) including licensing deals with most famous actresses. Add a tiny, subscription-specific watermark in one corner for rights management (pursuing people who record and publish their sessions). Are you guys looking at VR or is it too niche still?

The world is waiting on porn to sponsor the next big technical breakthrough!

It's almost impossible to bill both S.Korea and China (as well as many Middle Eastern areas). Also most porn is blocked there so creating a viable business in adult there is a non-starter.

If you paid her to film her, she'd have to sign a model release and provide you with ID. It may be illegal depending on where you film it. Why would someone want to buy it for $100 - and where is the profit in that?

It's easy to emulate what we do in terms of content production or building a website. If you followed me around you'd see me sitting in front of a computer for 8-10 hrs a day answering emails and PM's or planning. It's not so easy to make it a viable business - or to be able to wait for that investment to pay back. Some of our sites go over $100k in debt before they begin to pay the company back. It's taken us 20 yrs to build up our networks, connections and experience and it's still a struggle day-to-day to bring in new customers or keep people buying.
