One (a SuperCenter) in the city of Pico Rivera recently closed...but then again, I've heard word that a new one will open where the Compton Swap Meet is currently located. Bummer...

Wal Mart builds stores in small towns, puts all the small Mom and Pop places out of business, then closes their store so the people have to drive for miles to get to another Wal Mart. As for the cops in riot gear in the store, I am thinking it may have been some kind of SWAT or anti terrorism training.

As far as the cops in Riot gear acting like an occupying force protecting the interest of corporate America - we live in a police state and the state is ran by politicians who are owned by the corporations who bought and paid for their elections...

Yeah, I am NOT a big fan of the militarization of police forces here in America.

There was speculation that one of the first stores to demand minimum wage and have protests was pico rivera in CA and that for this store this is Walmart getting revenge on those workers.

Kind of an object lesson to other employees at other stores?
