Being a Model in 2015 - Grooby & Other Options
Being a TG Model in 2015. Working For Grooby & Other Options.
There has never been a time when so many prospective transgender models are looking to break into the industry and those who have had shoots already, looking for more work. Year upon year the number of models is increasing exponentially driven by more trans girls wanting to get themselves out and show themselves to the world, a need for income and supported by the fact that they’re seeing other similar girls able to do it. The bad news is that there are less shoots available than anytime that I can recall in the last 10-12 years – but the good news is that it has never been easier and more manageable to be able to produce your own content and get it to your fans.

Re: Being a Model in 2015 - Grooby & Other Options
Hey Steven.
Great read. Always had this venture in consideration, however I always had the gut feeling there was more on the other side of the coin. When it boils down it all makes ton of sense. Cost of production, site width, location cost, obviously more just wanted keep that short.
Although I've always approached things with one foot in one out. ( Just how I approach life in general. ) That way to avoid seeing it from one direction & getting overzealous about the endless possibilities that aren't fully realistic. Seems way too many girls I engage with in my experience tend to blinded by this fact & when they sign on the dotted line regret it & say this was not what I signed for.
Sometimes it seems they see the finished product however don't see the work & effort to make this all possible. I admire these efforts because this is often highly overlooked.
Why my preference has been providing my own content in the near future.
Through the editing of photos, learning how to harness video, cutting, editing. Just finding locations to shoot content. Its definitely no walk in the park thats for sure. You either have to be a lover of this art to enjoy doing this or realize quickly this is not for me. I always enjoyed this activity. Challenging but fun & I look to get more into once I'm able to fund more equipment with my new regular line of work.
My hopes most girls will see & fully comprehend these details. It's appreciated you taking out the time to let this be known.
( I read your other article elaborating on this subject sometime ago. Forget where I found it. Also a great eye opener. )
It helps us girls make more informed decisions.
Will 2015 may be the the Year of Vera. Will see.
Thanks again for the read. Much enjoyable.

Re: Being a Model in 2015 - Grooby & Other Options
Most of the trans people that I know here in London, Ontario, don't have "normal" day jobs. We're told to move to cities like Toronto or Hamilton, and a lot of us have, are considering it, or just can't afford to. It's shitty.
I've seen shops in Toronto, specifically, that only allow trans & women entry during certain days & hours, which blows my mind, and I think it's great.

Yes, but good day jobs don't exactly 'grow on trees' for girls like us. Before I decided to continue my education, I was working retail for basically minimum wage (less than $8/hr). It sucked, I felt I was being exploited, and I still had to do sex work to pay my bills.
Honestly, if a girl is in a situation of being able to get a good day job and make a good income, I can see why such people might make the choice to leave performing (I am in the process of doing that right now). Personally I don't escort, so working toward a good day job makes financial sense for me.
But if a girl is only able to get minimal jobs (food service, retail, etc) escorting and/or webcam might be a better way to make extra money and use long periods of downtime. The experience of personal contact and interaction with a desirable person (even through a computer screen) has an inherent value to many people.
Just my $0.02, and based on my experiences. Your mileage may vary.
