I'm sure I'm not the only guy who notices that most of the providers don't have a clue how to actually run their business.

Perhaps we can help them out by mentioning what works for us mongers, and what doesn't. I'm sure that most of them still won't get it, but there will be some smart ones just starting out who could perhaps benefit from this.

So please make polite and supportive comments on how a provider should conduct herself.

And of course, a thread from the provider's point of view might be a great idea, too. What can we do to make them happier. It's not entirely about money, even though that is a big part of the game.

This evening, I sent and email to a girl in Springfield, MA and as soon as I got my first email reply, I knew I wasn't going to be seeing her.

She placed an ad on CL, and it didn't say much. It didn't say if she's top, bottom, versatile. Nor did it say where she was. So my email to her asked about her location and what services she might offer.

The entire response I got was '$$'.

I decided to see how long it would take before she actually identified the town she was in, and it took at least 10 emails. I'm 100 miles away from her, so obviously I'm not going to see her tonight. But I'm also not likely to ever see her because I don't have any confidence in her ability to run her business.

In the end, I wrote her a note that essentially said what I'm going to say here, but I don't think she's understanding this at all.

Now if she'd said something like "hey hun, I'm in Springfield, and I'm versatile but prefer to top. Are you generous?", I would have written back and said "sorry, but I'm 100 miles away, but thanks anyway." Or "Yes, I'm generous, and you're only 15 minutes away. Let's do it!" But because she totally ignored my questions and was only interested in money, she attracted my wrath. (And as my dog will tell you, you don't need my wrath!)

This is a VERY common situation, so much so that it is rare that a provider actually answers ANY of my questions. Those that do answer are about 100 times more likely to get my money. After all, I'm going to want to see someone that I feel I can trust. Well, maybe not trust, but you know what I mean!

So girls - please read your emails. If a guys asks you a question - answer it.

This is a SALES job. You're making a sale, and you will close 100x more sales if you pay attention to your customer instead of just thinking of the money. Pay attention to us, and you're going to get our money. Make us feel like you're listening, like you care, and we'll show up and hand it over to you.

I don't need my provider to be smart, or to posses excellent writing skills. After all, sucking my dick isn't anyone's dream job! But at least make an effort to listen to the guy.

This is only one example of what not to do, and I'll turn this over to my fellow mongers who I am sure have plenty of other suggestions.
