What is the difference between the testing? I read that and didn't know the details. It says one doesn't detect the disease early on?

This is because of the condom ban or did that ever get passed?

the straight porn industry can only test at CET & TTS facilities that draw blood & collect urine and do a PCR-DNA test.

the gay & ts industry generally uses the rapid HIV test which checks for the HIV antibodies in the blood.

don't quote me but the PCR-DNA is a less than 2 week infection window and the rapid test is 1-3 months.

so the performer in question simply got a rapid test which meant that he didn't have HIV 1-3 months ago, but unfortunately he did have it within the last 2 weeks as the article stated that he was deathly ill with a viral infection (which is one of the early signs of HIV contraction). So his rapid test was negative and unfortunately he had a high viral load and gave it to one of his partners.

the rapid test is used bc its free at planned parenthood & county health clinics & outreach clinics.

the pcr-dna test takes 24 hours to get back and costs performers 150 bucks

the condom ban has not been enforced at all, nor will it ever. AHF has sued CAL-OSHA for not enforcing it, and porn has continued to shoot non-condom. This press release is a sad stab at trying to obfuscate the issue, by pretending the performer was tested at CET or TTS, and was in straight porn. Weinstein is grasping at straws because he is winning every battle but losing an unwinnable war.

Alert Issued, HIV Set Infection In Nevada: California STD Alert To Porn Film Industry Made

According to an IN News report, an HIV on-set infection took place out-of-state during a porn film shoot. After a male tested positive for HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, California public health officials issued an alert. The latest incident furthers the debate on stricter laws that forbid unprotected sex in the adult film industry.

Fox5Vegas‘ sources confirmed that the on-set HIV infection took place during a porn film shoot in Nevada after a male engaged in same-sex intercourse with several other male film stars. Officials say there is “very strong evidence” to believe the infection took place on the live set.

Monday, the Department of Public Health said the actor, whose name is not being released due to confidentiality laws, tested positive for the HIV infection. Accordingly, an alert was issued as a precaution. Prior to the film shoot, the actor tested negative for the virus that causes AIDS, according to the precautionary statement released.

“During the second film shoot, he had symptoms of a viral infection. The actor went to a clinic and had another blood test that showed he had recently become infected with HIV.”

Officials say that lab results show a second actor has contracted the infection since the Nevada shoot. Experts believe the first actor likely is the source of transmission of HIV to the second person involved on the film set.

Since issuing the alert, officials have not provided additional details about the incident. However, information contained within the document says that in the early stages of HIV infection, a person may very well test negative and show no outward signs of the having contracted the disease.

“In this case, the actor and production company thought he was HIV-negative during filming. Shortly after his negative test, HIV levels in his body rose rapidly to where he could infect other actors through unprotected sex.........
