    Default does homophobia in reggae, jamaica, rap lead to gay prejudice against blacks?

    Thought i would pass on an email that was passed on to me explaining a black clubber with dreadlocks experiences in Soho, central london where most of the clubs and doorstaff are gay, lesbian bi or trans. It was also sent to Peter Tatchell's campaign organisation. is it ok for clubs in Soho to refuse entry to black men, especially those with dreadlocks because of homophobia in reggae? Jamaica? Africa?. Do groups like outrage, stonewall etc who regularly highlight and campaign against homophobia in the said cases above, do the same about this? or they only interested in portraying their community as victims, and portraying blacks as being homophobic? double standards? subtle racism?

    ==============================================
    I don't know if this would interest you or get a reply from you. This was an email i sent to a mate but my recent experience in soho clubs. For someone who took part in a recent event at bar whatever for African LBGT i am sending for your info

    When i last went to that club a few weeks ago I was refused entry even when I was on the guest list! However Last Friday I was on soho and got refused entry to all the clubs I went to . They were letting in loads of women, couples, single guys but when they saw me said I had to be a member, or be a regular or have id etc . They didn't ask others and I could feel from the body language tone of voice and facial expression the real reason. So it's ok to turn black men with dreadlocks away because Jamaica is a homophobic place and makes homophobic reggae records, or in Africa it is homophobic against gay marriage etc. So we won't let you in till you stop the homophobia in your community first . So it's ok for gays to discriminate against blacks ? All the negative reports if homophobia is highlighted but not the retaliatory prejudice in clubs by gay bi lesbian transgendered on the doors. ? What if a gay person went to straight mainly black event and the black door men told them to stick to soho, it caters for them and they wont let him in to the clubs because they think we are all homophobic? I raised this to peter tatchell at an anti buju Blanton demo and he wasn't interested, just saying raise it without he club.
    So are gay activists only concerned with black homophobic, and what blacks face at soho clubs is their problem? I am no longer going to give blanket support to gay equality campaigns, when they can be just as prejudiced and bigoted and stay silent on it

    Buju Banton actually.

    Your dreads are the offensive part. Nothing to do with Jamaica's virulent homophobia. It is as racist as not letting blacks into Vegas strip clubs for wearing football jerseys or baggy pants

    No, black males can be stereotyped as troublemakers at clubs. So, some club owners try to limit the number of black males allowed in their clubs through various rules or straight deny them entrance. It happens at "straight" bars too.
