Open question for the masses

This question has likely been asked before and the reason I'm approaching the subject is because of what I think is a real "sea-change" in the transgender world.

Why is it that minorities, particularly African-American and Hispanic transgender escorts appear to be disproportionately represented in terms of sheer numbers in the advertisements on Craigslist and Backpage? My impression is that non-escort types appear to be disproportionately represented in numbers on Facebook as well. Mathematically, it would be highly unlikely that gender identity is more prevalent in the Black and Hispanic communities, so how come in virtually every CL and BP adverts and even here on the Facebook girls thread, the overwhelming majority of the postings are Black or Hispanic?

Has anyone else noticed this? Honestly, I mean no offense by asking the question.

Perhaps a mix of socio economic reasons and an issues of cultural values. The communities they come from might be less supportive of their situation than white middle class families for cultural reasons. Also the economic base from which many spring might also be less able to help them making the transition, hence the need to have recourse to escorting for a period in order to sustain themselves during this difficult time in their lives.

If it were socio-economic than the majority of GG escorts would be Black or Hispanic and that's clearly not the case.

Actually the bulk of escorts in the UK are either latina or Asian.

Perhaps also the market that backpage and craigslist target and reach are different from, say, Eros.

On the socio-economic side of things, assuming that it's primarily economics that's the driving force, (and based on the physical appearance of many of them) is it more likely that a large segment of these individuals aren't actually transgender but rather are gay and have come to the realization that by dressing up and presenting themselves as "female in form" that they can earn money?
