Re: My new video on the trans-adult industry
I think overall your video has very sincere and good intentions, but I don't know if it is necessarily the producers/companies who are entirely at fault for not paying the talent more. And you reference that models in the 80's and 90's made a lot more. I wonder, however, if that has more to do with the current state of the porn industry in general than how much less a producer is willing to pay. Those earlier decades didn't have tube sites and torrents and thousands of other ways in which people obtain content for free. So unfortunately there's likely less of a pie to go around overall in the current watered down porn market.
I do think models deserve to get paid more for porn. If they received a dollar for everyone that wanked it to their scene on a tube site, they would be in a very different financial situation. But since most people don't consider ripping music to be stealing, I doubt they'd care about how they obtain their porn. From a producer's stand point, I can imagine that it's hard to compete with free. And that's perhaps more responsible for the lower pay scale than simply choosing to pay less.

Re: My new video on the trans-adult industry
What people don't understand is that the scales are usually completely different to what they imagine. They see a model getting paid $600-$800 for 1/2 days work (or less) and then they expect that company is profiting $1000's from the shoot because the company has a big presence and the owner flies all over the world.
From that shoot:
$450-$500 to the photographer (who has to pay for his own equipment, location, etc.)
Photo and video editor costs.
Webmaster, marketing, finance, office rental, utility, server rental/bandwidth, etc, etc. Costs of running a business.
Scene goes live on a site at say $30 a month. 8-20% automatically comes off the top to billing/credit card companies. 50% of the sale goes directly to the affiliate who sent it (around about 30-70% of sales depending on the company) so a company can often be left with as little as $12 per website sale, on which they've updated 5-7 girls per week.
We hope to make $200-$300 per shoot as profit. Much of our profit goes BACK into future projects enabling new shoots and sites and continuing growth.

Re: My new video on the trans-adult industry
Nice video. I suppose it encapsulates what everybody (except naive young trannys) know that you can't get rich in porn.
I suppose other than a feeling of self validation to the young transgendered person, I don't see a lot of good coming from appearing in porn (TS or GG).
Even if you have the opportunity to work a lot, the shelf-life of a porn starlet is very limited. I remember reading an article by one of the GG porn stars who complained that she started getting offered MILF roles when she was only 23-24 years of age.
Female pornstar Stoya recently penned an interesting essay about how being in the adult industry affects your privacy:
http://www.nytimes.com/2014/03/09/op...tars.html?_r=0
This is probably a misogynistic opinion, but I would think a young TS would be a lot better off in the long run, focusing on finding a man (stable relationship where the man is the provider and not a pimp) and a regular job (I know regular jobs are no fun, but if you are willing to work hard you will be rewarded).

Re: My new video on the trans-adult industry
I never BLAMED the industry..what I was saying through...REALIZE how the trans-industry works..it's a numbers game and it's not in your favor...there are only so many companies...and LOTS AND LOTS more girls..I was trying to warn girls or pop the bubble of becoming famous or rich..
Many girls look at top ts talent..and many of them are living in closets/struggling to get by/escorting etc
So that's what I was saying in the video..
And that even the CIS niche that has more opportunity to shoot and make money they themselves aren't making money like Jenna has or Jesse Jane has...
That's what I was talking about..and that it's not EASY MONEY..you have to work hard...

Re: My new video on the trans-adult industry
I'm sure there are good points made in the video but 15 minutes is a big commitment in this day and age. If you're looking for maximum reach with these videos you should make an effort to go no longer than 5-7 minutes or so.
How am I not myself?

Re: My new video on the trans-adult industry
Miss Tasha Jones,
This is for you I was not demonizing Christian...Christian and I have never gotten along...and we will always have that problem with one another...
HOWEVER the reason I used Christian as an example..is to say to TRANS-PORNSTARS to make money in the business just off MOVIES/SHOOTING you would have to shoot everyday of the week like Christian does with either female/ts talent. I am not hating on him, I was just annoyed he was trying to invalidate that when he knows it is true.
When Christian doesn't have a shoot that day he cams or pushes affiliates. He knows this is all true.
And for him to act like it's not is ANNOYING!
I have given Christian respect in the past for being honest about who he shoots with when so many straight male pornstars do it behind the scenes. He makes no apologies.
But to discount what I'm saying as PISH POSH when he knows it's true..is what I was attacking! NOT HIM as a person.
