It's intent.
If a "twink femboi" as you put it intends to transition, then they're just a beginning tgirl. If they never intend to transition, then there is no comparison.

Whether you top/bottom is also irrelevant to your sexuality - as is whether you think someone looks more feminine or masculine. What you are correct on, is that that there are different degrees along the spectrum of sexuality.

I think the difference is a state of mind. Most twink crossdressers which I feel you are referring to, adamantly identify as male and have no desire to transition or be female. Who knows how they would turn out if they wanted to be female...

Also, by definition, I think it IS gay if a male tops a male...

To clarify my point. I do also. When I said "irrelevant" it meant, that whether you are top or bottoming with another male, you'd still be gay. One doesn't trump another.
