Transgender Woman Jailed in Toronto Men's Jail for Visa Violation

As a Canadian citizen this disgusts me but at the same time I'm not surprised. Over the years the country has become more hostile to its own citizens and visitors as well. Try going through Customs and Immigration at Pearson International Airport sometime to see just how much we respect visitors.

Worst experience I ever had was driving into Canada on the Detroit side. They made it so difficult and it all was over gender. My passport says female and has "wendy" however when they ran my social it came up my birth name and thus the 3 hours of explaining over and over LOL.. They wouldn't let me enter Canada and flagged my passport!

They should of just turned her around she had a ticket home.

When my sister went to France her passport had an issue so they sent her packing back home.

The Twitter account is real and she was allowed to live tweet her experience. She was eventually moved to women's detention and has since been allowed to return home.

Her biggest crime is that she over-stayed a previous student visa. That's why she was disallowed entry.
