Sex or Porn?

I watched the movie Don Jon a few days ago and one of the points in it I found interesting is that the main character found masturbating to porn to be more fulfilling in some ways because porn represents the ultimate fantasy, whereas sex in real life usually falls short of perfection. Sex was more like, if not a chore, then a really mechanical process, and the ritual of convincing the other person to have sex was more fun than the end result. Porn, on the other hand, allows you to totally immerse yourself in pleasure without having to worry about the wants and needs of your partner. The movie ends with him finding a partner that is more exciting than porn to him, but it kind of implies that finding that perfect partner is almost an impossible task. So, my question is, what do all of you think about this topic? Is porn better in some ways than actual sex? Can sex in the real world ever achieve the fantasy that is shown on the screen?

Hell yeah in some ways porn is better. But there still isn't any real replacement for the real thing.

i don't think porn is better than actual sex because to me it's more about voyeuristic aspect of watching others do it. what you're asking is like "is watching a movie about people water rafting better than actually water rafting yourself?"

sex can achieve the fantasy shown on screen. i usually achieve this fantasy in real life at least once a week. in college, i used to binge on it

sex is far better. that said, porn has its place equally for sexual gratification and entertainment. in a pinch, porn is a far faster means to an end, but if i could have sex as much as i watch porn/jerk off, i'd gladly take the sex.

Sex is miles better. Country miles, plus some light years, in the same way that escorting is a lot more fun than a porn shoot(the sex i mean, not the social aspects of either). It just is.

In my younger days I used to embezzle money from my job and spend the ill gotten gains drinking beer in the all nude strip clubs where you could get the gynecologist exam for a dollar, 50 times, and see a hundred girls, late teens, early twenties, writhing around on stage. Some were gorgeous. Then I'd go spend twenty or forty bucks on a whore. Luckily I was so drunk by then, the girls looked exotic and exciting.

ALL the whores would ask why I would spend my money on strip clubs when they could give me the real thing.
