Hmmm... I think I waver between a line of mustard, a sprinkle of relish, and a few onions... and sometimes mustard and kraut.

I do love these though too... Sonic Chicago Dog... not sure what is in it but is pretty tasty. Has some kind of pepper. I haven't had one in ages. Now I am hungry.

Chicago hotdogs are amazing. We call them "dragged through the garden" because of all the stuff we put on them. Actually haven't had one in a while and that picture makes me hungry for one.

Putting ketchup on a hotdog is a sin in Chicago for sure.

i tend to prefer my condiments in a very specific way on hot dogs.

being a new yorker, you can't go wrong with spicy brown mustard and onions. yellow mustard is tolerable, but not preferred
if i'm going relish, it stands alone.
kraut can stand alone or be paired with spicy brown mustard.
ketchup stands alone and should not be paired with anything else, even the onions though they are made with ketchup

other than that, if i'm going exotic, tzatziki pairs well with a nice dog and you'd be surprised how well frank's red hot and blue cheese go as well.

i am not a fan of chili dogs if only because of the mess.


now, the above holds true for boiled and grilled dogs. if the dog is deep fried, all bets are off and i'll pair that dog with almost anything. i've had a deep fried dog inside a deep fried twinkie. now fuck with that!
