Here's what I had to say on the topic to a girl who recently had a VERY successful debut:

You can definitely go as far as you want with porn. The thing to keep in mind though is that a lot of girls get into this thinking it will fix some of their problems, namely financial and transition related, but the reality is that it doesn't. If anything it generates more problems, and that comes as a shock and girls drop out after their initial rush of shoots is over. Of course doing porn is really really fun. It just becomes harder to rationalize when you realize that porn on its own is just a way to have fun and get attention, and that's it. The money in adult entertainment, for us tgirls at any rate, is in escorting, and to a much lesser extent camming, and while escorting can be great fun and great pay, it can also be scary, dangerous, and stressful as hell. For me at least, when I consider how far to go with porn it becomes a question of "if I'm not willing to escort on a regular basis, does the fun and fame of porn justify its costs, because without escorting, being an adult entertainer is not especially remunerative." Anyway, just stuff to consider -- more like me venting about the stuff I'm struggling with LOL.

As Miranda states above is partly the reason but some models do a couple of shoots and even when there is potential work there, don't take it.

Often we find that the attention they've garnered from the shoot (and the social media that comes with it) makes their already fragile partners, even more so, so that they "ban" them from doing more. Sometimes because of the shoot, they'll meet someone new and despite that person, having seen them on a website, they become over-possessive about the model. More often then not these models will return in the future.

Also a lot of models are unhappy with their lives before they model - and they think that modeling will change that. It will - but only temporarily. If they have problems in their lives, then they need addressing as something completely different.

And finally, there are just so many models right now it's ridiculous. My deam (fantasy) would be to have the ability to give them all as much work as they could, when they wanted but the budgets just aren't there so top models get more work and it filters down so that some new-comers, get their first shoot (which can take up to 3 months to appear on a Grooby site) and then nothing for a while after in which they lose interest.
