When I was getting it regularly, I would test, on average ...three times a year. Unfortunately...lots of people don't.

Well, while I stated in one of my previous posts that I would rather have Diabetes...they are both a big deal. They would both involve lifestyle changes...well to me anyways.

If you take a look at the medical journals and scholarly articles and if anyone has access to jstor, you will find that a lot of these research tend to LGBT and particular the rates of transmission for LBGT minorities and there are many articles who point out the inaccuracy of some of the studies created by the CDC especially for LGBT.

Many times the research collected is design to go after a sample group and by doing so it tends to allow bias into the results. I am not saying that HIV is not a problem, but by not addressing accurately it delays find a way effective way to fight it. In fact most samples don't take into consideration that most escorts don't streetwalk in cities like New York, why because they lack knowledge on how escorting operates are based on poor information and old beliefs.

You have to remember many transgender women aren't documented legally. Obviously once they get HIV it's documented though. The statistics are much lower than this as most transgender women are under the radar, but these are just estimations.

Thanks lily, especially when there is a large population of homeless transgender who were rejected from their home.

And lets not forget drug use which is sometimes the problem for transmission and not the sexual act itself a problem that is associated with more of environment than transgender.

No question there are HIV+ hobbyists but the probability is high the main form of transmission for trans girls are the guys they hang out with.

Exactly Lily - just estimations. There is a problem, but arguing about the scale of it and extrapolating actions/causes isn't necessarily helpful as the evidence is factually pretty shaky and based on an unknown proportion of the total population of tgirls.
