Eh, I think BART is cleaner than the Metro trains; certainly, the seats are more comfortable. I didn't ride a bus, but they did look substantially newer and nicer than the average Muni bus, I'll give you that.

The Paris Metro is notorious for groping. An English friend of mine was once on a crowded train at rush hour when she felt a hand grip the back of her thigh, so she grabbed it, held it up for all to see and asked in perfect French, "Whose hand is this?" It belonged to a crestfallen and perfectly embarrassed priest. Cue much self-righteous French tutting and sacre-bleu-ing.

Yes, it's a funny and true story but not everyone would have the presence of mind nor the courage to do something like that.
