I personally don't have an interest in bottoming, but don't have anything wrong with people that do. I think it's stupid to consider one more gay than the other. I think sexual attraction determines orientation far more than the activity you do with the person you are attracted to. If someone likes getting banged by a GG with a strap-on because they think she looks hot and it feels good, I don't know how that would make them gay.

I think society as a whole is still pretty sexually conservative, so anything outside of the norm is met with apprehension about how it might affect one's perceived sexual role.
