I think I was lucky ,the music we love is I think formed with puberty .I hit puberty in Liverpool in the early 80's in a family that everyone played an instruments ,so I was as the youngest of 7 yes 7 (Irish catholics )I was surrounded by it.My eldest brother is a cellist but my other bro is a sessions bass player and the guy who though ten years older made sure I saw great live music.He toured with top names like Kate Bush, Edwin Star ,The Real Thing ect ect.When not touring he with his mates where the house band in a club in Liverpool called Eriksc.Downstairs was Northern Soul and funk but the top floor was were most of the indie and what became New Romantic bands learned their craft.I saw most of them ,the Brilliant who never really made it like Echo and the Bunnymen and the god dam awful that did Franky goes to Hollywood (franky should have gone to music lessons )
