Any desktop is converted automaticaly by your computer to a bmp extension , so it's not a gif anymore.

I pronounce it with a hard g (like in gift), as does everyone else I know. However, earlier this year, the guy who invented the format came out and said it should be a soft g (sounds like jif). Hard or soft G?
