R.I.P. Dennis Farina

Did you ever see him as the eccentric hotel manager on Tales From the Crypt? He was hilarious in a great episode starring Timothy Dalton. The guy was so great at playing cops and mobsters but he could do many different roles very well. I believe he was originally a real-life detective who became an adviser to a film then an actor IIRC.

yes. he was good at playing cops because he used to be a chicago cop. i had been watching all the seasons of tales from the crypt with my gf but haven't come across his episode yet - might have to continue that run.

i didn't mind his presentation of unsolved mysteries, despite the ravage robert stack fan blacklash.

on a side note, I wonder if his health status had anything to do with him being killed off on "New Girl", as he added alot of depth and storyline to the Nick character.

I definitely thought it could've been one of those "once a season" cameo roles.
