I just read this whole fucking thread when I should be editing so I figured I should at least chime in. It's not even a matter of self-esteem in my case. In fact, much to the surprise and confusion of the psych-types, I have a comparitively high self-esteem. It's the general population I don't have a very lofty regard for. Hence why I see professionals rather than continue courting the average psycho from a singles bar or the mall.
