What you are apparently referring to sounds like romantic love , in the Western sense , which started in the 15th century , in Europe as Courtly Romance and until just very recently was thought absurd by people in places such as India ,SE Asia and China.
It may be what YOU are looking for ,but there are other loving relationships ,built on different frameworks out there.

It reminds me of this Italian film you surely know, Robert Louis, by Dino Risi, "The Scent of a Woman", with Vittorio Gasman. Puritanistic Hollywood remade it in the 90's and, to justify the title, Al Pacino asks the girl he's dancing with, at some point: "What is your perfume? Ah! Chanel no 5" or something... Delirious!

Hollywood's insistence on remaking far superior foreign language films and fucking them up drives me nuts, the insipid versions of Korean horror movies being the worst examples.
