And finally tonight, The Eagles from the early days before they were infected by that ego-freak Joe Walsh and became their own pallid tribute band playing stadiums to the brain dead.

The video appears to be an extract from Tombstone, one of my favourite westerns. "Tell him I'm comin'. And hell's comin' with me!"

No apologies for putting this up right after Prospero's last one. That live recording by Kate's family is excellent, but for me it doesn't come close to the McGarrigle sisters' original. Their unique sensibility lends an almost religious, fragile and ethereal quality to their music which is unlike any other duo I've ever heard.

This combines some of my very favourite musicians. If you like this, The Transatlantic Sessions are available on CD and DVD. I'm also very proud to call Dick Gaughan a friend, mentor and occasional collaborator.

More from the Transatlantic Sessions. The late, great and wild John Martyn with Kathy Mattea. I had this song in my live set for years.

Another old pal from Scotland, Dougie MacLean, with his song Ready for the Storm, again with Kathy Mattea. And yep, this song was in my live set too!

Haunting is a word often misused to describe music but if it ever applied it would be to the vocals of the McGarrigle Sisters
