By the way, major props to Buttslinger and his wonderfully eclectic musical taste.

It was his posting of this song on the What are you listening to? thread that gave me the idea of a thread for music with tunes. Thanks buddy.

In terms of pure pop this is as good as it gets - the song, the singer, the arrangement. And as for the demented trumpet solo at the end, I think the guy probably blew his liver out lol

She's over 80 and that glorious voice has gone. But she did some great things back in the 60s.

If you've ever watched "Sharpe" starring Sean Bean, you'll have heard this.

Great singer and songwriter and a great friend to know.

Not a big fan of jazz. But the Kind of Blue album is great for rainy days or nights.

My sister was so into music she got a part time job nights minimum wage selling CDs and t-shirts downstairs, just so she could abandon her post and hear free music and meet all the musicians personally. Country, bluegrass, Texas music, she had a big crush on the guy who married Julia Roberts. Lyle Lovett. She met the Dixie Chicks when Dad drove them around in his station wagon, they all liked the John Prine music, some of the guys Robert has posted but I can never remember. The guy who owned the place sold it and now it is crap.

One of my favourite nu-country stars. We got drunk together at Cambridge Folk Festival about ten years ago.
