Anecdote time: This song was originally meant to be a comedic piss-take of the whole Rocker scene, but in fact the Rockers adopted it as a sort of anthem, and it could be heard blaring from juke boxes in all the caffs in the land, from the Ace in London to the Busy Bee in Watford, and all points in between!

NPR chose Kacey Musgraves as one of their top female country stars of 2013. I can see why.

Something a bit special. James Taylor guesting with Jerry Douglas, the world's best dobro player, on a really moving Hugh Prestwood song.

This is a fantastic version of "The House Of The Rising Sun" by Dave van Ronk. He heard it from an unnacompanied Appalachian singer and came up with the chord sequece which is now famous. Bob Dylan heard him singing it in a New York coffee house and stole it for his first album. But Dave van Vonk's version is better I think. Van Ronk inspired the new Coen brother's movie "Inside Llewyn Davis."
