He would prefer if you called him Hades.
Gets around all of that Catholic garbage that tends to muck everything up.

Re: Satanism
The La Veyan Satan isn’t even real; the poor dude’s reduced to metaphor. The creed (created in the 60’s in California) is absolutely materialistic, naturalistic and atheistic. No soul, no supernatural, no life after death and no Satan. But just to lure in the suckers, Satan is thrown in a a metaphorical creature. He’s ‘symbolic’. Supposedly he symbolizes rationality. To me that’s like using a mushroom cloud to symbolize peace and love.
So what it does La Veyan offer? Hedonism, egoism, a dash of Ayn Rand style individualism, social Darwinism, and (in a flare for self-contradiction) self-deification. It specifically opposes the Golden Rule and egalitarianism. Some adherents argue for eugenics. ‘seems like the only difference between Satanism is the libertarian hard right is the mascot.

"...the order in creation which you see is that which you have put there, like a string in a maze, so that you shall not lose your way". _Judge Holden, Cormac McCarthy's, BLOOD MERIDIAN.
