Treads that fine line between the intensely irritating and the utterly forgettable, doesn't it? Yet another clone from a UK recording industry fresh out of ideas about how it's going to stagger on till the end of the decade. Having finally accepted that the younger audience won't pay for their tat, they are targeting what they see as the 'grey wave', and have pinned their hopes on tired torch-singer rehashes like this.

Trouble is, why would we older, sophisticated music-lovers buy this twaddle when we can have (actually, already have) the real thing. (And there is simply NO COMPARISON.)

I'd never heard of her but give her a listen now - I couldn't make it through the album. Too poppy, too fluffy and over-produced.
No edge like Amy.
Give me Amy or Adele any day

I agree with both Seanchai and Mac on this. She may be more sane than Amy - but when she was at her best, Winehouse was amazing. This girl is, I'm afraid on the strength of the link I found and one other track I heard, rather ordinary.

And yes when you consider the great singers like Simone, Billie Holliday, Ella, Aretha etc ... well no comparison.

Winehouse never, tragically, reached her full potential, IMO. We'll never know what a mature, deep, reflective Amy Winehouse could have done. She might have been good enough to have her name up with those you just mentioned. But the clones....SMH. Enough already.
