No. When I was younger a few of my friends tried but nobody really made it. I remember though a well known guitarist told me that the dream of most of the guys was owning a house - not a big house either just any house. He was in a band that was having mid level hits but he really wasn't making much money himself. Had he been the songwriter he might of made more but as a guitarist only he wasn't gettign a whole heck of a lot. Unless you get to the level of selling big venues then the money just isn't great and for everybody that reaches that level ther's 100's who dont. Thats why shows like the Voice exist because people are desperate for a shot.

I know a woman who was in a band called "The Breeders." they had a couple hits in the 90's. She lived with her mom then, I think she has an apartment now. Never made much money off it. You have to tour to make money, and tour a lot.

You can't compare this to donating entire hospitals. Donating to a hospital is a worthy cause. Paying for medical is a far different subject about life or death than porn which is about sex.

This is a business. Some make and some don't. If I ran a business then I would use the funds that I earned from customers to buy my business's needs. However, if I am short on funds then I need to make changes. I don't need to ask customers to buy material for me.

Think about this. You buy the camera. She shoots new content for her site. Now you have to join her site and buy the content. Not only are you buying the camera, but you're also buying what she is filming on that same camera. At this point you're buying site access and paying for the site's material. Something is wrong here. Members shouldn't pay for site material. Business owners should pay for site material with the money they earned from their business.

There seems to be a assumption that Domino would be rolling in money - that appears incorrect. Porn is a bit like the music business - someone is making money but it's not necessarily the front end talent. From all I've heard it really doesn't pay well and maybe she's just hoping to save herself a few bucks and get that camera quicker and easier.

Of course it's not going to pay well when you rarely update your site.

Who do you mean? Kelly Deal? I smoked a joint with her after a Breeders show in Providence once. She was pretty cool.
