Gunman shoots 32-year-old Mark Carson dead in Greenwich Village bias attack: officials

The gunman murdered the openly gay Carson after calling him and a friend 'faggots' and 'gay wrestlers,' officials and sources said. The suspected shooter — who earlier flashed his gun at a bartender and venue manager — is now in custody, but police are still looking for the two friends he was with prior to the shooting.



Greenwich Village is one of the gay capitals of the world, where the Stonewall riots - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Stonewall riots started the movement toward rights and acceptance.

This perp obviously went there for one reason-to kill-and he had to of known he would easily find a gay man there...so as far as things have come, it's obvious there's still a long way to go.

The pont made in another thread by the OP here is that gay men (and gay women) and transexuals do not particularly like each other - and gay men are certainly NOT attracted to TV or TS girls, by and large.

This horrible story shows that Gay people and the TS community (if such a thing exists) are both likely to be the victims of hatred by the wider world - even in a place as supposedly enlightened as NYC. The common ground all of us share - admirers, TS women (and men) and the gay community share - is a lack of acceptance by the wider world.
